Deborah A. Richardson, MA, RD is the owner of Optimal Nutrition, LLC. She earned her degree in nutrition from Arizona State University and completed her internship for dietetics with the University of Northern Colorado. Her experience includes nutrition counseling in health and wellness and a variety of health issues such as eating disorders, obesity, childhood, adolescent and adult weight management, diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease, high blood pressure and osteoporosis. She also designs and facilitates nutrition education classes for adults and children in both corporate and community settings, conducts menu and recipe analysis, provides nutrition assessment and consultation in long-term care facilities, and provides dietetic consultation to pharmaceutical research companies testing the effects of weight loss, diabetes and other nutrition/health related drugs. Deborah is also a member of the American Dietetic Association and the Arizona Dietetic Association where she serves as the State Policy Representative, and the recipient of the 2009 Arizona's Emerging Dietetic Leader of the Year.
